Focus on Priorities

Successfully focusing on priorities allows you to give your undivided attention to a person, a project or a task. Distractions steal your attention from those priorities.

In this session, Penny talks about how to reduce distractions and how to return to a priority when you have been distracted. She covers external distractions (email, chatty co-workers or family) and internal distractions (emotions such as anger and anxiety) and presents specific techniques on how to deal with them.

Remove Energy Drainers

Tolerations are influences you put up with, bear and endure. They can be as small as someone not cleaning the coffee pot to something as significant as an abusive partner. Tolerations drain energy.

After participants identify their tolerations, Penny presents a five-step process to zap them.

 

Manage your Life

To arrive at your excellent future, you must move forward. If, at the end of the day, you are exhausted, but you can't name one thing you accomplished, then you are probably majoring in minor things and not moving forward.

Participants sort professional and personal priorities into three categories: those they will keep, the ones they will "give away" (delegate), and those they can "throw away." This is a very interactive and humorous session because it is modeled after the popular TV shows where compulsive hoarders attempt to clear out their clutter.
